Michigan man arrested on meth and marijuana charges

Michigan residents who are accused of drug charges should have a firm understanding of their legal rights. These cases are rarely cut and dry, and small details can make the difference for a person’s future.

Late last month, a Michigan man was arrested on drug charges after deputies said they found illegal drugs during a search of a Lawrence residence. This situation leads to many legal questions. First, did the authorities have a reasonable cause to search his residence? The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit performed the search after receiving a report claiming there was illegal drug activity at the location. The office then obtained a warrant for the man’s arrest because of that investigation.

Deputies reported finding drugs, including methamphetamines and marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia at the residence. The man’s vehicle was also seized for allegedly being used in the sale and delivery of meth.

The man was charged with the sale and delivery of methamphetamine. It is important to remember that the burden of proving these claims falls to the prosecution. The man who was arrested must be considered innocent until they do so. This man likely faces serious consequences if he is convicted of the drug charges. Even if he is not found guilty, his life has already been changed by this situation.

Facing drug charges might seem daunting, but engaging the services of an experienced criminal defense lawyer who can explain the charges and offer advice on how to proceed can ease the burden.
