***I will like to update this review as I would like to be completely honest about my experience. I wrote this review after my sentencing without allowing for time to discuss next steps with Kurt. Instead of just accepting this sentence, he is going above and beyond to get me in front of this judge again. I let my emotions get the best of me and wrote the below review, ultimately this is a great reputable firm, that is fighting for me even when I expressed disappointment publicly. They value me as a human and are seeking the best outcomes possible! ***
If you are looking for an attorney that will fight for you, this is not the law firm to use! I am a young African American female that needed an attorney to stand up for me in the court of law. While looking back on everything that happened, I had a better chance of representing myself!
The judge presentenced me for a misdemeanor and was not present at the time of sentencing. Instead of advocating for an adjournment, lower probation sentence, or anything else, he sat back and accepted it AND didn't even allow me to speak to the stand in judge that asked if i had any questions, when he saw the disappointment in my face.
I asked this firm if they have represented African Americans before because we need a different type of advocacy when facing crimes, they assured me I was in the right place, but after all of this, I am extremely upset and dissatisfied with this firms service. I was more of a transaction, not a client. Do not recommend.
